Any info as for trademark when it comes to the (i think) generic words yellow pages?

I'd suggest you do a free online trademark search at: - the US Patent and Trademark Office, - the UK patent office, - the EU trademarks database.

There are many trademarked domains with the term "yellowpages" within it, but you need to be careful where you are marketing the site to. For example, I believe the term "yellow pages" is trademarked in Canada and the UK. Therefore if your domain name contains the words "yellowpages" within it, and your site caters to these countries, you most likely will have an issue. If you wanted to develop a yellow pages directory that caters to these countries but use a domain name without the term "yellowpages", it probably will not be an issue - providing the term "yellowpages" also does not appear on your web pages/site marketing to these countries. In the US, the term "yellowpages" is in the public domain. Best to always consult an IP attorney first.
