Hi,

How do I switch a blog from (i.e.) example.blogspot.com to example.com?

Do I move the blog to a hosting site?

If I understand your question correctly 1) you register your domain; 2) you arrange for hosting; and, 3) you copy your content to the new site by whatever means is available.

Don't quite know what you can do about the old content, on the old blog, once you do this. Delete it? Overwrite it?

If you have basic skills you could follow steps 1 and 2 above, then install a blog script that has import capabilities, and then just import your current blog onto your new blog site. I believe wordpress can do what you need.

You would also want to eradicate your existing blogspot blog as soon as possible after you copy the content so-as not to trigger a dupe penalty.

Keep in mind that all of your pages are spidered at the old blog address and that all links coming into your current blog will be worthless. You will see a major traffic drop and recovery could be a long time coming.
