I purchased a domain name over the phone at a domain registrar and the sales guys was very interested in the name. He mentioned to me that it was a great name and that it could definetly be sold for a lot of money. Also that he wished he was the one buying it. I checked and i was charged for the domain name and i locked it. But my questions is, how safe is your domain name at the domain registrar? Could the people who work their make a small bobo and delete your domain from your account? What are your feelings toward this? What can be done to prevent this?

May be just was an entusiastic sales rep, that's all.

But just in case, I'd move it just as it gets 60 days with the current registrar.

A couple of times I've thought up some weird yet great domain names. I check and they are available. However if I leave it 24 hours before buying them they are gone.

This reminds me of a tagline of an episode from one of my favorite sci-fi series: Trust No
One. :)

It's like everything else in life: some people you can trust, others you can't. If your gut
tells you the latter, then don't trust them and do what you can to prevent any potential
mishaps from happening.

As one suggested, transfer it out after 60 days if you're that "cautious".
