Hi,

I have a domain with a famous "cow" registrar, this domain is 1.5 years old and already have 50 records in whois history.

the problem is that records seem to pile up while I don't even login the registrar admin panel!

How is that possible, how can I see what is modified in my whois?

Thanks

Questions:

1. Do you mean the domain's WHOIS keeps changing at certain times without you doing anything?

2. Are you the only contact listed for the domain?

whois history

AFAIK there is no "official" WHOIS history.

There may be third-party companies offering this a WHOIS history service, but what you get from them depends how frequently they query the WHOIS for any given domain, and what they define as a change in the WHOIS data...

I've often registered a domain using my ISPs default settings, but within two minutes I've modified the owner, tech, and admin contacts. Want to bet that a third-party WHOIS picks all this up? I doubt it. Most of the world can't even resolve the domain that early in the registration process...

One Third Party WHOIS provider counts everytime someone accesses their database as WHOIS "history". So if the number increments by 1 everytime you check, possibly the only new information stored in the "history" is your IP address and maybe a timestamp ;)

Hope you guys are right, it seems yes that each time I check my own domain I get an additional history hit....weird.
I am the only one with access to the registrar info.
