Hello

Since 12/04 Im experiencing a weird problem with my .ORG domain. My host was in the ip A, lets say 100.100.100.10 , in 04/04, it changed their IP to B 200.200.200.20 ...Well, I changed the values in DNS control and everything goes fine.

But in the month 12 a part of visitors of my site goes to the ip A instead of B. About 80% of my visits go the right place and the other 20% goes to the old IP. I though it was a problem in the DNS cache of some ISP, but isnt. I contact the hostmaster of the IP A and it says the problem is in the .ORG company holder, the ultradns.org , which is answering as autorithative DNS server for my domain. But ultradns are not in my DNS server list. I had 2 others DNS listed. They are perfect configured. The host root is my brother, he double check everything and the problem isnt in host. The host have other .ORG domains with same configuration working fine.

The ultradns.org have a Cached IP and sometimes redirect people to that old IP. The visitor so goes to an IIS page (my host use apache) saying "Not authorized to view this page" in all pages of the domain. I tested the traceroute for many servers around the globe and the problem occurs in various. Today, thing are better, the worst was in the beggining of the year, but still occurring. I send emails to ultradns support and get no answer. I changed my registrar from the networksolutions to aplus.net and their support dont understand the problem. They say the problem is in my DNS server, and isnt.

Any help appreciated, thanks.

<snip>

Using dnsstuff.com - what does that say about your name servers? What it sounds like is that your slave DNS servers did not get the new update. Does ultradns control your both your name servers?

Hello

<snip>

DNSstuff says:

Searching for mydomain.org A record at g.root-servers.net Got referral to TLD5.ULTRADNS.INFO. [took 78 ms]
Searching for mydomain.org A record at TLD5.ULTRADNS.INFO. Reports a CACHED answer.
The cached answer makes it impossible to test your DNS timing, sorry!.

And in the record it lists about 10 ultradns server like TLD1.ULTRADNS.NET together with my 2 official DNS servers at the host.

Well it does sound like you ultradns has a problem. Send them the info from dnsstuff - see what they respond to on that

I do not have any relation with ultradns, but they are the root masters for the TLD .ORG I already send lots of email for their support and internal email of employers found in google and get no answer, as I mentioned before.

As I said, my brother and 2 other roots, which cares about the fact and double check everything in configuration. The host have other .ORG domain with same configuration working.

Well it sounds like a DNS issue. Can they delete the records and re-create them? DNS records can become corrupted from time to time.

I'll send you a PM with someone to contact as well tha I have relied on from time to time for DNS problems
