How would I sell if I don't know what it's worth?

how would I set the price?

Hi there, first of all I would like to say that I really like this website. I had always find links to this website through google, but everytime I saw that login page, I thought for some reason that only paid members could login, but then I found out that it's free and made myself join. :), this is a great community and I have learned a lot of new things while being here.

The questions that I have is that if I buy a domain and think that it has a good potential, how would I go about setting a reasonable price for it?

I have pruchased a domain and thinking of selling it.

The reason that I bought this domain is because I have another design community and I wanted to start another site related to 3D, but due to my time with school and freelance work I cannot complete the project, so now I want to sell the 2 domains.

Could anyone advise me or give me suggestion on how I would set the price for these 2 domains so that they are reasonable? I wanted to put them at Sedo, but thought that I should ask here first,

thank you for your time,
sean

Welcome sean_sd to your first post at WebmasterWorld. You're right about the value to be gained from reading WW. Also, please read WW's TOS and each forum's Charter before posting.

As to your question, unless the domain has specific type-in traffic, and that's the methodology chosen for setting value, the methods of ascertaining value are a bit murky.

Here's thread from this forum that you should read:

We don't do domain appraisals in this forum but, for what they're worth, you can often get member appraisals at other forums that are stricty about domain names. Google the obvious phrase and you'll easily find the domain name forums.
