Hi everybody,
I'm a newbie here and would very much appreciate some of your expert advice.

About 4 years ago I managed to register a nice .com film name which is currently in the making and part of a long running series.

Please forgive me for not mentioning the name or the film as I think it's probably best to keep a low profile for the time being!

A similar scenario would be if I owned the name www.starwars3.com.

What I would like to know is:

1) Would George Lucus be likely to take me to court for this?
2) Would he prefer a nice quick sale for a tidy some of money? :) (He's not what you'd call hard up!)
3) Would he not be bothered about it as he owns www.starwars.com?
4) Would somebody else be interested?
5) Or any other circumstances that you can think of?

All views and comments very much appreciated.

Best Regards

While I'd like to help answer your questions, this is a webmaster forum that doesn't
like answers being given to potentially legal issues.

But this much I can tell you: google around for "UDRP fatactress", click the third one
and read the decision. That'll give you some ideas.

Webmasters are not known for their depth of legal expertise, so you rely on their advice at your peril, and in this forum it's against the TCU to offer legal guidance even if you have a law degree, which I do.

P.S. I don't offer legal advice by sticky, either. ;0) Hire a lawyer in your jurisdiction.

Get some legal counsel and then make your own decision. Webmasters are generally not good lawyers.
