Hosting Question about 'Add-On' domains

I just registered 2 new domain names and have a question about hosting. The package I'm looking at has a 10 "add-on" domains feature. I asked the hosting company to make sure they're not subs and he indicated they were not. He said they would operate as stand alone sites even though I would just be purchasing the one package. Apparently the "add-ons" do install in a seperate folder, but you don't need the folder.sitename.com as with subs. It would appear the same as a regular site. I'm not sure if I should get the one package or fork out the money for 2. Anybody have any idea how search engines look at this and whether or not PR and rank would be affected?

IMO it shouldn't affect your ranking and it should be SE friendly.
