Does this help with search engine placement?

Question: which one of these domain names would help get better placement in search engines, or do they matter at all:

example 1: widgets-for-sale.com

or

example 2: widgetsforsale.com

Do they matter? I know the second example is easy to remember without the hyphens, but would using the hypens, thereby separating the words, help with search engine placement?

Why don't you just browse through archives? There were lots of threads on this topic, some of them are still on the first page.

I read in interview with a google exec that widgets-for-sale would be a better name for placement. The search engine is more likely to recognize them as individual words.

Then how about the following, in search engine ranking:

[keyword1keyword2.com...]

or

keyword1.keyword2.com (keyword1 is a subdomain)
