When can you re-register a DN?

Current Registrar charges too much

I have a Domain Name expiring soon, but the Registrar charges too much for renewal and wants £10.00 for me to transfer it away.

If I let it expire, can I re-register it with another Registrar (say) the next day? Or how soon after?

Thanks in advance,

John.

DON'T LET IT EXPIRE!

If you let it expire, odds are that someone else will grab it and you'll never see it again. If you value the domain, hold your nose and pay the transfer fee.

Whatever you do, don't let it expire - you'll have to wait months to get it back (during which time it remains unavailable), and there is a strong risk of losing it to someone else as soon as it becomes available again.

$10 is peanuts. The registrar is ripping you off, yes, but pay the transfer fee and move the domain to a better registrar.

That's all I need to know. I'll probably transfer it to GoDaddy & pay the £10 (not dollars, by the way).

Thanks a million, guys.
