Learning about sites that have existed on a domain in the past

I seem to have had some good fortune and have registered a great domain for my new project. All I’ve done is throw up a place-holder index.htm and have been delighted to see Google indexing the page every other day..?

NOTE: the home page has no PR.

There could be a number of reasons for this but the most likely seems to be that the domain has been recently active. I was curious if anyone knows of a service/site where I can view past sites that have occupied the domain in question?
