I am looking to transfer some domain names to a different registrar. Looking for good price, good customer service, free url forwarding, free transfer of ownership if I sell a name, able to change name server info....

Who do you recommend and why......

Thank you!

Hello Porchop,

We've had to place a policy that limits discussion of specific registrars by name, because such threads have been abused for promotional purposes.

Form the Forum Charter [webmasterworld.com]

Specific Registrars
On today's web, registration has been deregulated and registrars
are no longer limited to a few select businesses. Instead we have
seen the rise of many all-in-one businesses who will register,
host and help to market your sites all in one stop. Because of
this shift, we ask that you do not discuss specific registrars,
just as we long ago disallowed discussion of specific web hosts.

We can have a more general discussion - What do you look for in a registrar? What are some problems I should guard against? etc. But all without naming names, OK?

Hi Porkchop

I have registered some domain name with <snip>

It's good customer service, good price and a lot of free services for domain name.

My experience and now my philosophy are quality registrars and hosting is the only way to go. The extra money I've paid over the years working with top firms is more than made up as evidenced by the horror stories often found in these forums about discount firms. In the long haul the most solid foundation succeeds.
