I have a question about domain extensions for my site. Let's say I own www.mysite.com. Would it be worth it to also buy the .net, .biz, .ca, etc., in case potential customers accidently enter the wrong extension.
I am also wondering if I should purchase variations of the domain, such as common misspellings.
Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi kodaks. For twenty or thirty dollars a year, I think it's worth it. Just 301 redirect to the main domain.
The main benefit would be in preventing your competitors from registering them.

Thanks! I will purchase them.

There are lots of extensions and some will always escape but you should grab the main ones, .net without any doubt and if you can get the .ca and .us that is great as well.
It is cheaper than a trade mark and much easier to protect in the international market for a small business operator.
