I've found a new idea to popularise a new domain before you have your site up and running.

1. Publish Press Release across sites or via eMediaWire
2. Publish a blog on important Blogging sites
3. Have the new site uploaded on new domain with one
page, giving the basic info
4. Start submitting this site to major Search
Engines / Directories in order to be indexed
5. Start contacting related sites giving info about
your site

The above mentioned points come from my own experience. My domain was popularised before and had PR 4 when the site was put online.

After following these 5 basic steps I'm sure your DOMAIN will already be indexed and be recognised by important Search Engines when you finally upload your site.

In addition to these points I'm sure there will be many more ways to Promote a Domain before Publishing it. Can you add to this List to be used by all the Webmasters! Thanks...

As I understand it, SEs/Directories aren't keen to index sites which are under construction or non-existent.

Hi Leosghost

Thanks for the prompt reply. I'll really appreciate if you can tell the URL of the Thread discussing this issue of establishing backlinks OR just let me know the matter discussed. I'm quite keen to know it, as then we can have a proper info base for ourselves. Thanks in advance. Wud really appreciate to receive your reply.

Hi HelenDev
By making a one page site you'll include all the basic info of your site and not UNDER CONSTRUCTION note. I've seen many one page sites, conveying the basic info about site.

Thanks in Advance

I usually try to get a few basic pages and backlinks up for a new site before I start working on it in earnest, so I can get it registered with search engines etc straight away, to avoid some of the delay when it goes live for real.

Hi vaniaul,

I couldn't fine the topic about the PR mentioned above, but I also read it and now I found an example page like that .. it means basically that if have a way to start to link to a domain that nobody owns (does not exist, is not registered at all) .. then if you get good links from high PR pages link PR5, 6, 7 .. GG will try to follow them but will get an error .. however, because those are high PRs I supoose those are valid and GG know about them, so a PR is calculated and assigned to the domain. Later on, when somebody registers the domain it will have a pre-build PR and will see it immeditly just publishing one single page (after a PR update of course)... I have found an example like that .. a newspaper made an article and listed 2-3 examples of domains, one of them does not exist.. the newspaper is a PR8 and the article is now PR5, the domain is still available and I'm trying hardly to avoid getting it to confirm if that is true :-)

Who knows .. may be I'll end up buying it .. the reason because I haven't buy it is because I have nothing to put in that nicho LOL ... but if my current site gives me some money one day I could spend the $7 and get it LOL. Also I want to be sure that the article will be long enough to be worth.

CS.

Hi uncle_bob

Thats pretty a smarter way to do have your domain already indexed before uploading the real site. Thats just what I'm proposing. Are your domains provide country specific services or global? Just wanted to ask that which Major Search Engines you target for pre-promotional purpose.

Hi caspita

Your eagerness to get the high PR domain impresses me. Now I just wish that you get those $7 to buy the domain with pre-built PR. It would be really nice if you SM me the example of newspaper site to me, but obviously not to buy the domain. But just to have a look. Thanks...

Absolutely! I have used this method successfully a few times over the last couple of years.
