Someone has stolen copy of mine and pasted it in a page at www.keyword-keyword-dom-path.com/keyword_keyword.html which then redirects to a HUGE, internationally known competitor.

How do I find out who the url is registered to? I have tried to find out in a couple of whois lookups, but no joy.

The page redirects to the biggest and most highly respected companies in the industry. I can't believe they would have any part in this sort of thing.

I have excellent search results for my "slice" of the market (in a tiny part of the world) and I know all my competitors are vying for the same spots, including the company this page redirects to, but I can't believe they would knowingly do this.

Any way to track it down?

Might be an SEO working for the doing it without their knowledge (just an idea, I've seen it before). Contact google regarding an infringement of the Digital Millennium copyright Act.

I haven't tried it yet but I believe ICANN imposed a requirement that registrars maintain accurate contact information about domain registrants. I would file a complaint with the registrar setting forth the circumstances and the need for the info.

Also, send a DMCA (search WW) cease and desist letter to the host.

Likewise, send a similar complaint/notice to the company that is benefitting.

Who knows? Maybe the scoundrel will be permanently put out of business.

Thanks guys. That page doesn't come up on Google, just Yahoo and MSN. I've reported this page to Yahoo, but as others have mentioned, they aren't exactly doing anything with the reports sent in.

I'm going to contact my competitor because I truly don't believe they would have anything to do with such a sleezy pratice.
