Domain name scam?

Is this a scam?

We've just been phoned by a UK company claiming that another company wants to register various domain names that are similar to our own (including ones that use our company name.)

They haven't asked if we would like to purchase the domains but I am rather sceptical...

As anyone heard of a UK company called ISIS?

Ditto Shak's comment.

It's an old and expensive scam - just put the phone down on 'em.

Watch out for similar emails too. The scammers grab your whois and start pounding you. Don't click links unless you are ABSOLUTELY sure you know what it's for. I've seen URL-hijacking links following the "click here to be removed" so watch out!
