I'm just wondering if it's worth the extra money to pay for the privacy domain registration. Is there really that much spam that comes directly from your WHOIS listing?

Depends on what you are doing. Or not doing :-)

I only use it so my competitors don't know who I am. On the other hand I got a call from A+ something or other on my voice mail. It seems that they are calling everyone who is registering a new domain name to offer their services, this is the 2nd call I have gotten from them after registering a domain name. I did not find them so wonderful on the first call. So I don’t plan to call them back.

Has any one else experienced this or is this a godaddy/wild west thing? I think I will give them (wild west)a call tomorrow and see if they are releasing their list.

Now that I think about it how would a marketing company find out you just registered a new domain name? I don’t thing the registrar is releasing the information – but here it is.

As a matter of fact I am going to post this to a new topic so we might want to move this.

I have registered 7 domains with GoDaddy without any problems, but I was curious if it was worth the extra money since I plan to register more.

PKfanSteph,

Why not just register the domain(s) for now and purchase the Stealth WHOIS a little before you plan to go live?

You can add it later. :)
