I changed the actual store name to a generic 'foovirtualstore'.
Here are the instructions per the virtual store:
=======================================================
You can set your store up with a CNAME Entry in your DNS Table. Here are the instructions: You need to create a CNAME entry in your DNS tables. If your website is www.store.samplestore.com then you want to create a CNAME for store.store.samplestore.com to point to www.foovirtualstore.com. The syntax for this command is Store IN CNAME www.foovirtualstore.com.
Note the trailing period after virtualstore.com which is required to make this a fully qualified domain name.
After you make this change and restart your DNS service you should be able to test this with
Nslookup store.store.samplestore.com
A reference to www.foovirtual.com should appear. If you see a reference to www.foovirtual.com.store.samplestore.com, then you need to examine your entry to make sure the trailing period is added as mentioned above.
===================================================
OK. At the GoDaddy screen I have:
Add DNS Zone Record Entry: TYPE: CNAME
Input fields are...
Name
Value
[Save Record Button]
Under that is:
Zone Record Name Zone Record Type Zone Record Value
@ A IP Address here
WWW CNAME @
And there is a Save and Delete to the right of each of those 2 lines.
I'm sure this is very easy to anyone with even a passing understanding on DNS entries. I e-mailed the print screen to the virtual store people and they stated they couldn't help. I suppose they don't want to get blamed for messing up something. This is a parked domain so I can make as many mistakes as needed. :)
If this isn't a good place to get help can someone point me in the right direction?
I wish GoDaddy had a Web board. :(
TIA!
