My registrar has offered me the opportunity of preregistering .dk domains with æ, ø and å. There is one such domain that I might be interested in. Anybody having experiences with problematic characters in domain names?

Hej Troels :)

We registred a few, but they've been on hold for ages. Personally I don't believe that they ever will become worth it. Maybe when there's a world wide standard that will make them work, but until then I don't care about them.

Remember you can't use the emails for that domain for other that receiving from people who have those characters on their keyboards.

Hej Rumbas. :) Velkommen i min tråd! ;)

I understand that those domains are supposed to go live in february, but perhaps that is too optimistic?

This particular domain would be closely related to an existing website that already has all the mail addresses I want. Actually I would take a complete section on that website and move it to the new domain.

I do not really need the domain, but a competitor might irritate me by getting it.
