The .jp domain for one of my sites has been taken - whois only gives a server name and a version (Apache, Solis Original)
I still had a month left before it expired, but somebody made a change on 2004/01/01 at 00:00:00.
[Created on] 2001/12/11
[Expires on] 2004/01/31
[Status] Suspended
[Last Updated] 2004/01/01 00:00:00 (JST)
I've contacted both the IP and the Registar. I still have the .com domain, so I've asked the IP to make that the main domain. This is a real pain.
Any suggests on how to get it back?
There was no notification. I've contacted the registar (it's big famous American one) but they have not answered.
Is there any kind of appeal process? I can clearly demostrate that I prior right over the domain. I have trademarked the name in Japan.
Is there anyway to find out who the claim jumper is? Other than waiting for the ransom note.
So it correctly was suspended on 01-01-04. The "Expires" annotation shows the day it will be deleted and made available to the general public to reregister.
While the terminology may be a bit confusing, I don't believe there's anything underhand going on - you simply failed to renew the domain before its renewal anniversary date.
luck,
robert
By the way, robert, I got the .jp from Register.com:
[register.com...]
US$100
I got the domain back!(^.^)!
I went to Japan Registry Service [jprs.jp...] and they could tell me (in English) who the registar was that had my domain suspended. I contact the registar. They were helpful. They did a grab-back when the suspended state was removed. So, now the domain is mine again.
