Regarding Subdomains

Isn't this one too?

I've been waiting for someone to fill me in on the subdomain issue being used (?) by Haste/0.12 [webmasterworld.com]. The question is: "I'm not all that well versed on sub-domains, (I guess that's what this is) but the 'haste' part is the same. Doesn't that mean something other than just a part of a UA string?"

Anyone?

Could mean anything; any domain admin could set-up a subdomain haste.theirdomain.com.

My thought in this instance is that Haste is rather like WGet; in that it is not a spider operated by any one particular company or individual; rather a crawling system that anyone can download/install/operate. Its default user-agent may be "Haste/0.12", and the most popular way to install it is to set-up a subdomain called haste.
