Hi all,
we have forgotten to renew our domain on time, and someone else registered it. now that domain is in pending delete period and this is what we get from whois:

Name Server: DNS1.SECURITYDNS.COM
Name Server: DNS2.SECURITYDNS.COM
Status: PENDINGDELETE
Updated Date: 26-nov-2003
Creation Date: 14-oct-2003
Expiration Date: 14-oct-2004

could some one please tell me when this domain will be freed for re-registration?

Thanks
Vafa

The Pending Delete period is the five days after the Redemption Period has ended.

After this period the domain should - in theory - become available for sale.

In your example, pending delete commenced on November 26th which should have resulted in the domain becoming available in the last few days.

As this hasn't happened yet, best bet is to keep checking to see if the domain has been dropped. If its worth anything to you though, it may be worth using a service such as Snapnames, Expirefish, etc. to increase your chances of registering the domain when it finally drops - somebody purchased it before, so may do again.

Oh - and welcome to WebmasterWorld!

Thanks for reply, but i thought the pending delete and these intervals are based on some rules from icann, if so, then what you mean by theory? from readings in ICANN, i think it "should" be free in 5-6 days after 26th Nov.
am i right?

Thanks again

and, it does not worth that much, just was wondering what is going on? :-)

I use the 'in theory' part as although there are guidelines for how the process should work, it doesn't always seem to go as it should!

Being generous and allowing for WHOIS updates, I'd expect the domain to drop sometime today. Ever the pessimist though, I wouldn't hold your breath!

Fingers crossed!

but the name for th eowner is not for a company, a registerar, registered it again......

i think since i checked the status repeatedly, they thought someone is interested and registered it for sale.....

could you give me a clue? i can email you the domain name if you can be so kind to help on this......

Thanks a lot

Me thinks you are being a bit too suspicious vafalik. Its more likely a register has snapped it on behalf of a snapback service.
It seems that you weren't the only one after the domain.
