does anyone know the whois server for .us domains? i am trying to setup a domain whois lookup script

using 'whois.isi.edu' in my script for some reason?
but now changed :)

Just use <suffix>.whois-servers.net for all domains - it's a CNAME for the real whois server. It even works for .uk.com, .ac.uk, and other nonstandard TLDs.
