having a problem domain name or host unreliable or unstable

I recently changed web hosts, and transferred my domain name to point to the correct nameservers. I did this over a month ago, and with in a few days the new site was able to be viewed by typing in the domain name.

The problem is that it has been very unreliable ever since.

First of all,I set up my POP3 mail account in outlook, and everything worked great for two days. Then I started getting errors when checking my mail saying that "password was rejected" etc. I have to delete the mail account in outlook and keep setting it back up until it works, and then it is only good for about a day or so, then I will have to do the same thing. (this has been ongoing)

Also I have been having intermitent problems with accessing the site. sometimes it will go over a day or two without being able to access it with my domain name. ( If I use the the address [64.247.31.8...] then I can usually access it)

then sometimes I can not access files or folders from the site.

For example: I can access [domain-name.com...] but not [domain-name.com...]

It will say "Document not found", when I know it is there, and I am following a link that worked the day before, and will work later in the day or the next day.

Things will fix themselves if I wait it out, but it is very unreliable, and I need to get to the root cause.

Does this sound like it is domain related or a hosting issue?

I would seem to lean towards it being a domain name issue, because I can usually still access the site when I use the address [64.247.31.8...] .

Any input at all would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Jason

I am surprised you have given them an entire month. If they are having that many issues (and I assume they aren't responding to support requests, or are responding ineffectively) I would have found a new host after a week.

Get some recommendations from others and switch to a new host. There are so many hosts out there, you shouldn't have to put up with problems like that.
