Hello,

I'm trying to change the nameservers on a client's domain name.
I don't know who they bought it through, so I need to look at the whois to see, so I can go change the nameservers.

I have a problem, though. When I go to look at the whois on this domain name, I get this message:

"Registrar Record
Invalid argument at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/Net/Whois/Raw.pm line 238."

This is not cool. What does this mean? I don't know the company they bought it through to contact them.

thank you soo much

That error looks like a server side error on the site you're using to check whois. Have you tried another site for the whois information?

You're running into a perl script error. I recommend you try accessing the whois database through a different site. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post any urls, but if you do a search on Google you'll see there's a ton of them out there.

Aha! I went to another site to see the whois and it worked. Glad it was so easy, but not glad it was so silly.

thanks,
