Irish Domains are as good as any - you're aware of the strict proceedures relating to the registration of .IE domains I assume?

I am not, this will be my first.

I assume you are referring to the documentation that is required. Can you give me guidance on common pitfalls, or would you expect Irish Domains to guide me through it?

I guess that the registration cost is high because of the high administrative overhead?

Whichever Registrar you use should guide you through the required information, although I'd recommend looking through the information contained in the Domain Registry of Ireland's [domainregistry.ie] site and familiarising yourself with the registration protocols.

Basically, you'll need to be a registered Irish organisation or individual residing in Ireland. Non-Irish organisations can apply for .ie domains, but you will need to produce a letter detailing why you want the domain, what it will be used for, how it is linked to Ireland, etc.
