PIR not releasing expired .org domains

Anybody know why?

Does anybody know (Lisa?) why there have been no substantial release of expired dot org domains for a while?

It seems that they have extended a 30 day holding period i.e. a redemption period as of 9th of June to bring them in line with the dot com and dot net domains tho I had thought that they had this already in place.

Only Verisign was allowed to do that... I think the other registries were forced to wait 120 days or something like that because Verisign was the test case.
