Problems Switching Domain

ISP being a pain in the neck

I am trying to move my hosting to a new host. My current host registered my domain and I requested it be switched to my new hosts. They asked for the TAG of the new ISP but as it is US based host, they don't support TAG. They said I have to go via a intermeditary company like UKreg and then change the DNS info with them.

I have registered with UKreg and got their TAG but my hosts are not responding to emails and their tel no. is not being answered. What can I do? Is there a way of reporting them to anyone?

BTW, they are called Netweaver and they are terrible. Avoid.

Try again to contact them. IF they will not respond to emails and phone calls contact Nominet UK and tell the problem.

Assuming that you are referring to NetWeaver.com Limited

Send them snail mail, i stickied address to you. They imply they are a nominet member so as max_rk said report them to nominet. It is possible that they are closing down, that is why they may not have replied to you. There accounts are overdue if that is any indication. This is their company number if you need it: 04168736

I don't want to send them Snail mail as I need to have it changed ASAP. The switch was supposed to take place last night (Monday). I didn't think it would be a big deal for them.

They replied quite quickly to my email on Friday asking about switching. But when I did what they said and got a new TAG, they have not been back in touch. I emailed several times yesterday and many times today. I copied the text from the Nominet website about their obligations, and made it obvious I am mad with them.

I have a feeling that they may be going bust. They have been hacked into several times in the past month and I am probably not the only one wanting to switch.

Lets face it your not going to get done ASAP unless they want to do it ASAP. If they are going bust, which there finances may or may not indicate, they probably dont care.

have you tried faxing them? 0845 070 3205

And dont forget to report them. Just in case the dont go bust. :)

Timmy,

Contact Nominet ASAP via:

If you wish to change your registration agent, you should first of all contact your current agent who should be able to move the domain name for you. Most requests to move domain names are carried out by registration agents themselves, however, in a small number of cases Nominet is asked to intervene because the agent is either unable or unwilling to assist

If they are messing you around, then dont wait for them to completly screw the whole thing up.

Thanks Shak.

Only problem is although I am the holder of the domain it has not been updated with my name, which currently is on record as 'n/a'. But I have the certificate sent to my address as proof that I am the holder.

It is interesting that Netweaver are not answering their phones or emails. There sales telephone line has also disappeared from view. I am a bit worried as I have another site with them.

Hopefully I can get this resolved soon. I had suspended all advertising for my site until it was moved. It was supposed to happen mon night but now I am worried it will take weeks.

Yipee!

I can't believe it but I got a reply from Netweaver. No explanation, no apology, but importantly they released the domain. What a relief! Thanks for the advice chaps.
