Class-action suit being sought against Register.com

"Class action certification is being sought in a lawsuit filed against Register.com, a company which charges $35 to register domain names. The suit was filed by a client, Micheal Zurokov, who claims that Register.com breached its contract by using his site to redirect visitors to their site, and to sell advertisements while his site was being constructed. If certified as a class action lawsuit, it is estimated that there could be up to 3 million plaintiffs represented in the class."

This is from a class-action newsletter. There is also a place (a form)on their web site to put in your testimony / potential claim on this and other problematic suits.

What do you all think of this? I had some domains registered through Register.com. It has been a while back. I transferred all of my domains to GoDaddy. I can not recall how it was handled back then. I know that GoDaddy offers free parking of domain registrations - I don't remember if that was the situation when I had domains at Register. If it was "free parking", then I would think that it is the same as GoDaddy. The domain will show up in the URL and advertisements will be all over the "under construction" page.

I thought this was interesting and it is somewhat brave of a lone soul to come out with a complaint of this magnitude that potentially could affect many.

On a similar note. If you buy a domain from UK2 but not their hosting, they preset your user with a pop up for uk2.

It is possible to pay extra to remove the pop up but this seams to be taking things a bit to far when I own the domain!
