I am about to open an IT-business, which will be physically located in Russia, but will be oriented to both foreign businesses and the Russian ones. I am unsure of what domain ending to choose. There're a lot of options left for the domains with the .ru ending, whereas most of the intelligible .com names are already taken.
Should I go for a .ru name? Won't it somewhat scare off non-Russian potential clients? Or should I choose a .com one anyway?
What is your opinion?
Thank you in advance!
Perhaps you could blend a unusual russian name with a .com suffix - the chances are that you will find one that is not taken.

Not necessarily, depending on what you are offering.
For instance, it's well known and accepted in the tech sector that hiring a russian team is cost effective, and that the work can be of the highest quality. For instance, Intel worked with a russian startup, and eventually purchased the company.
However, I prefer the .com for this reason: I dislike domain names that are similar to another (for example, a .net or the plural version).
Thus, if you have a great .ru name, but the .com counterpart is already taken, I'd rather avoid the confusion.
Why share your identity with someone else?
