harming my sites existing listing

I’m in the process of adding another side to my website. I offer a service and I’m adding another side to my website which is also a service but not related to the first one. The new side is basically going to be a copy of the original site but with unique content etc, etc...

My question is; would I be harming my sites existing listing and offending the search engines if I point another URL at the new part of my site In terms of promoting it? Or would I be better off just using the original URL and how would this affect my site when submitting it to the likes of yahoo and Dmoz? Of which I already have listings in them?

not quite clear what you mean here. A copy of format/template/url-name?
