All things being equal, does google treat .us domains the same as the others, in terms of serp rank? Will the identical page - same backlinks, same pr, same site structure, same everything - fare any better or worse simply because it is a .us domain? This is purely hypothetical, I am just trying to decide if it's worth investing in a few - no other factors apply in the equation. I've gone through search and did not find any discussion on this specific issue.

interesting question ... don't have you answer but would like to know peoples thoughts on .biz extensions as well

TLDs have up to now no influence whatsoever on rankings. It's the human visitors you should be concerned about.

Because the com's are pretty much gone for popular search terms I think this a good question; are you aware of any studies on this topic? I think we need to know how click through results might be impacted with the new TLD's.
