1st post so please go easy on me... :)

1) Is there a free or inexpensive tool to help locate domain names that are about to expire?

2) Has anyone experienced succes$ buying misspelled domains to popular sites (using an affiliate link redirect to the site)?

Thanks in advance for your replies. I look forward to learning alot around here.

Best regards,

Harrison

1 - deleteddomains.com
2 - not generally a good idea as it is against the terms of most agreements. Mispellings of a non proper noun would be ok- not of a site name

One thing I do notice from looking at deleteddomains.com is that the majority of domains that are listed on that site are domain names that are common mis-spellings of popular web sites, or commonly used phrases.

For example "amerciaone.com" is available.

In answer to your second question, I would highly recommend not registering a domain name that is simply a mis-spelling of an already in place (popular) domain. For example don't go registering gooogle.com or whatever as you will have lovely letters on your doormat from lawyers of the respected companies in no time.

However, trawling through deleteddomains.com I did notice that there were a couple of domains that are quite tasty! But I only had the time (and patience) to look up to 6-letter domains, so I'm sure if you look hard enough you'll find something which you can register "safely"

Good luck and welcome to WebmasterWorld
