I was thinking of starting a web site selling cd's, nothing too original. I have no problem with the technical site, it actually the business side of thing. How would I go about finding a supplier?

For getting started, mikeH, you might want to consider an affiliate program like Amazon or B&N. As your traffic grows, you can evaluate bringing some of the business in-house.

If your are going to specialize in small bands and the like, you might contact the groups directly - they may be able to point you to some kind of favorable purchasing arrangement.

I'm sure there are some general music distributors, but I see a problem with getting competive pricing in small quantities.

thanks rogerd, I already have quite a few affiliate based sites and the idea of actually selling products is more what a friend wants to do than myself. I do realise getting competitive prices is difficult from suppliers, but I notice alot of other independent music sites around and would like to compete.
