Hi,

I am looking to get a dating site (yes I know there are millions already) setup for a particular niche market. The problem is, I am fine with standard webdesign but getting such a site setup is beyond my capabilities.

The site will need to be done my someone else who is proficient in MySQL / PHP preferably. I have come across a site which deals with such projects where people but a design request and then people bid on the work. But does anyone here have advice on this and of any other sites which might help me find a suitable company do the work?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Tim

Try the "Commercial Exchange" forum. You may just find the right person there.

I am asking questions and replying like I am suppose to! Why do you delete my posts! people have questions and i have the answers so why don't you let me speak my mind. I have a quality product, and i think people should be able to view it.

Falseaddiction,

as bcolflesh has kindly pointed out, you have violated the ToS (please see your StickyMail at the top of your screen, click on the link "Inbox" to see my mails to you)

>> I am asking questions and replying like I am suppose to

Yes, but where possible we try to avoid specifics. I know that in that in some cases it's impossible to avoid naming names, but I DON'T feel that this is one of those times

>> I have a quality product

That's most of the problem in one phrase, IMO. #3, #4 and #25 of the ToS are relevant here.

If you want to promote your product, it may be possible for you to do so in the Commercial exchange Forum. I would recommend that you approach Marcia (the moderator for that forum), after having read the Charter for that forum, to find / negotiate an acceptable form of words to use

The TOS and the individual forum charters, actually ...as some charters are tougher than the TOS. But you can wrap it up in 4 simple rules

#1 - Be courteous and polite, even if the other member is a jerk

#2 - You can only talk about anything related to what you do on the web in generic terms. No one should be able to figure out your websites from your posts or nick, nor should they be prompted (publicly) to "contact you for more information."

#3 - No hot-button issues like religion or politics.

#4 - No tattling or pointing out specific sites.

# 5 - No soliciting for business.

Hi,

I managed to check out the site before it was removed and it wasn't of any interest anyway. It in no way helped with the question I orginally asked.

I know this sounds like a crappy answer, but have you considered learning PHP and mySQL yourself? I picked up a book that discussed both and haven't looked back! Now I love PHP and mySQL... you'd be surprised how easy it is to learn them.
