I just registered my new company, I am going to sell online. But I need MID (Merchant ID) and TID (terminal ID) from a bank. Who knows how hard to obtain one if my company a brand new?

Hi Gamer,

Your bank manager (or account manager at your bank) is the best contact since your bank will be affiliated with one of the credit card operating networks (Streamline or Barclaycard Merchant Services if you're in the UK).

However, even if your bank ask you to go away and come back when you're making money, there are plenty of online payment service providers that will provide credit card facilities for your site without you needing to have your own merchant account.

Worldpay are perhaps the best known, but there are many others. Most will also continue to provide the Interface for you after you have got your own merchant account.

And then there's PayPal of course - so plenty of options to go at!

Good luck.

If this merchant is in the UK, don't forget about nochex to get you started.

In the US, there are plently of options, as I'm sure is the case for other countries also.
