Serious questions remain about how customers are treated on the Internet. And although the biggest problems aren't immediately visible to site users, how companies go about collecting, sharing, and selling their customers' personal information could eventually take a big toll on the trust essential in any business-to-consumer relationship.

This a serious concern, if the user does not trust you to keep their information sacred, you risk pushing them to other suppliers who do not share/sell your information.

Sounds like a good reason to get that privacy policy up.

I 100% agree UKGimp. Although, I don't generally care as long as they don't have a phone number. I go through the roof if they had that out. As for email and post, I get so much junk now that I don't care.

Hi Uk Gimp,

There is an obvious answer to this one that is very effective.
For £30 per year join the data protection act and post this on your website everywhere with your registered number.

Our sites have increased sales a lot since we added this.

Simple but effective.
