Displaying thawtes logo seems to slow my pages down 20-30 times! Any knowledge appreciated? TIA. stuart

Thanks Kevin, I only got my cert last Friday so its all new to me, but does this happen often?

I'd put the logo in a table with some other info so I'm thinking it maybe better off in its own table at the very end of each page.

Stuart,
It is not related to table status/location. Since I posted my last comment their logo has returned. I think they just experienced a 12-hour problem that has been resolved. Don't do anything different as I have never experienced this before. Locate the logo where it benefits surfers the most; anywhere near on the page where they will enter personal information about where they live, phone number, cc#, etc.

Thawte frequently has these problems, perhaps once a week, for several hours. Many people use a Thawte logo without the "clickable" feature to prevent site slowdown.

We link from this logo to an explanation of what the "padlock" means and the fact you can click on that to verify the identity of the site.

Not a perfect solution but better than the site not loading.

If you need an image, do a Google image search on thawte.jpg or thawte.gif, and make sure you find one that does not say "click to verify" or similar on it.
