Browser version and conversion rates

Are the conversion rates different for different browser

In my latest redesign Ive decided to drop support for NN4. The logic was that since the product I am offering is new on the market(for early adopters), therefore people with old browsers(conservative) wouldnt buy.
But logic is not always the best advisor. Do you have any data or experience on that topic.

Not off hand, but it is good to remember that many of those NN4 users stick with it because of the email client. That can give you some interesting thoughts on email marketing such as newsletters.

Your logic makes sense. I also suggest you consider "early adopters" that may use NN4 because that is the default browser at work. For example, I had a NASA employee buy an "early adopter" product using NN4 on a XWindows Unix workstation. You also have the potential to lose sales [webmasterworld.com] when the site is not coded for NN4.
