All - my hosting company had been up and down now for 2 weeks - I now have lost about $3,500.00...

Any recommendations on a 99.99% uptime or better hosting company?

With a really good Control Panel?

Hi

I recommend www.9netavenue.co.uk

They are small but offer great rates on dedicated servers. They are based in the UK, but hosting generally seems cheaper in the UK. I have hosted with them for years and have acheived virtually 100 % uptime. Customer service good because they are small you get to know everyone there. They are not perfect but try hard and get problems sorted.

Also dont worry about UK hosting, I find often the ping time to US (where I am based) is quicker than a server i have just down the road.

Hi,

I have used DataPipe and while a little more expensive they, IMHO, seem to be worth it.

Another good host that I have encountered is AppiedI hosting.

I would suggest www.hostica.com very reliable and very well priced. Their support services are first class.

I use s3host.com for one of our domains. They do have a 99.99% uptime guarrantee. However, you may find their plans basic and expensive.

When the SQL worm attacked a few months ago and they could not make the guarrantee, they refunded 50% of the hosting fees into our credit card account.

I have to say that I love rackshack.net. They're cheap as crizap, their tec support is responsive and friendly, they host a great set of forums where you will find tons of answers, hmmm... what else. I've never had a second of downtime, as far as I know.

However, I don't think they're into hand holding. I believe it is more of a take your server and run with it type of show. But what they do provide for you is rock solid.

For me there is only one hosting company to use, the same one as Microsoft uses.

It is mentioned in the third link posted by MartiniBuster and recommended by another hosting company owner who is in a slightly different (cheaper) market.

Hosting is critical to success, I spent at least $20K (in time) in my first year dealing with incompetant hosts. Today I don't even worry about hosting issues, the hosting company worries for me.

Cheap and cheerful is a mistake in this arena. If you are serious about running a successful website be serious about paying someone to host it!

My hosting cost currently represent about 0.75% of profit generated.....nothing really! If they charged 10 times as much I would still use them.
