Does X-cart shopping cart is worth doing?

I'm about to start PHP e-commerce project and now choosing a shopping cart. [x-cart.com...] looks good for me (plenty of useful features and template driven interface). Had anyone tried it in acton, I've found some x-cart related topics on this forum but they are more then a year old...

I decided to give X-cart a try, and I think I was right in my choice. In spite of it’s low cost X-cart seems to be a decent competitor to the more expensive hi-end carts. I ordered it with installation services and the next morning it was on my server. Admin interface at first look seems a bit complicated but the next day I get used to it – everything is organized quite logically (according to the earlier postings on this forum there is no manual for X-cart, and that was my main concern, but it was a pleasant surprise when I have found full X-cart manual in the download area).
The cart is operating smoothly and I already started customizing it, it was not easy to make a start (since I’m quite new in this type of software) but their support team guided me to the right direction. The project is still going on, I will try to share my further experience.
