My question is regarding drop Shadows for product images. It has been done a lot by catalogs and websites, does this really improve the look of the product or is this a dated technique of image fluff?

Also, I can see the importance of a large image view but I am wondering about that and the whole 360° thing also.

What works for you, or what do you like?

I am not a fan of drop shadows. I just don't understand the point. It is still a rectangular shape. It seems to be a web style that just won't die. I like product images that have the background composited out to the same background color of the page. That way I can see the item without confusing what is and isn't part of the product.

360 is good for big or intracate items that are not symetric where volume or parts are of intrest. LaWebmasterWorlders and other machines are good for 360. I don't think items that are pretty much common and don't have too many working parts needs them.
