Is anyone using LivePerson software or any software that allows to monitor visitors in real time and chat with them? Has it improved your conversion rate or does it just make your cutomers confused?

When it was free I used it, was great! Its great if you have support people and sales people for them to talk to. :D I loved watching people, and when they were stuck or on the help pages Id offer to assist them :)

EliteWeb, your site seems to target a web saavy audience though. Do you think that anyone would get it and start chatting?

Our commerce site has never tried it. Was all the rage a year or two ago.

But as a consumer I thought it was vaguely creepy. I didn't want someone in my computer to start talking to me!

"I loved watching people..." Heck, that's what turned me off about such sites. I also worried that I'd click the wrong link and my mouse would slap my hand or something.

We use it, it is very effective if used right - as a way to get customer contact details.

As soon as a conversation is initiated we try to get the customer's phone number and phone him/her straight back.

Sales are driven much better by a human voice!
