Most users won't see this. I was very surprised to see an EBay home page that looks like Google!

lol google. Not even in the same ball park.

I do like the new look though. The old one is way over blown.

More like the recently revamped altavista homepage IMO.

I seem to get the new one only if I use their direct IP [66.135.192.11...]
otherwise [ebay.com...] and [ebay.com...] is the old page

At least in the computer category, most users use title search as the main way to find items. Their interface is very inconsistent though. While they are "testing" on their Home Page, they also add more clutter to the descriptions with their Seller Information Box [pages.ebay.com]. All you really need is the feedback ratio. None of that other additions are necessary I think.

I wonder if eBay will really give up all those $99.95 Home Page Features that sellers pay for.

I like the current version. While it is cluttered, I like to search catagories (better chance of finding interesting things) and the current home page allows me to get to almost any catagory as soon I hit the home page.
