As I mentioned in an earlier post I thought adding a monthly post regarding sales might be useful.
I have put a few simple question and answers down, participate & change as you wish.

Site is <> than 1 year old? Our site is >

Sales % change for January?Up 39%

Advertising expense % of sales? We spent about 7%

Type Advertising?We use PPC adwords/OV/L$

General Product?Sporting Goods

Location?USA with worldwide sales.

Notes Of Interest?Although our online sales increased our wholesale sales were down. General Retail seemed to have a tough month.

Interesting post mansterfred. One way or another, we have many small e-commerce site owner/operators on the board, and many other members who act as advisors to e-commerce sites. Whilst the board as a whole still wont represent a massive %age of the total business transacted online, we do have a good mix of market sectors represented here, and if enough people contribute, some statistically valid information may arise.

A couple of clarifications on your own post, if you please :

1) >> Sales % change for January?Up 39%

I assume you mean that your like for like sales are up 39% on Jan'02 here?

2) >> Although our online sales increased our wholesale sales were down.

Do you attribute your increase in online activity to better traffic figures, or better conversion rates/improved sales per visitor?

NB For anyone else wishing to participate, please remember that WebmasterWorld policy and ToS [webmasterworld.com] don't permit promotional URL drops. We would all like to hear about your experiences, but lets keep it general, not promoting specific sites. Thanks everyone (esp. mansterfred :))

Site is <> than 1 year old? Our site is <

Sales % change for January? up by 110% on Dec

Advertising expense % of sales? not sure but advertising is average £50.00 per month

Type Advertising? Word of mouth and Adwords

General Product? Car Parts

Location? UK

Notes Of Interest? Static HTML site but we are developing a database driven one with 1000's of extra part numbers and products, I am hoping for a much bigger increase when the new site goes live :)

Yes that would be the increase over the previous January. I think this gives better numbers and less seasonality.

Yes better traffic figures. Otherwise we probably would have been dented like the wholesale side.

I will be more clear for next months post.:)
