Signing up for Paypal Micropayments

How do you find this on the Paypal site?

The Paypal site tells us that they offer support for Micropayments. See ...
[paypal.com...]

This page links to what looks like their standard sign up page, which offers a choice of only the normal options (personal, premier or business accounts).

When I use their search to look for Micropayments it cannot be found anywhere on the site and it offers no further information. Can anyone explain how this process works and why they apparently keep it hidden from view?

If you do a lot of business through PayPal you will have an account manager. Ask him or her about this feature.

So they do keep it hidden?

If you use the signup link from the Micropayments page in the Integration Center (click on the "account registration page" link), and select "Business" as the account type during registration, you will create an account with micropayments pricing. It won't be displayed anywhere during the signup process, but you can verify it quickly after completing your signup, by sending a small payment from another account (or get a friend to send you a payment). For example, if you have a $1.00 payment, the fee should be $0.10 instead of $0.33. You can send a full refund for that payment and the fees will be refunded as well.

Why don't they just do it the normal way and tell people about it. Have they heard about usability?
This is not what I would expect from a company like Paypal. If they offer a service they should make it readily available to those who want it.

If you're looking for the signup page on Google instead of PayPal, it's not surprising you won't find it. ;)
