I'm working with a new client who is in an industry where those long one page "hard sell" websites are utilized. They contacted me because they are not satisfied with their current email marketing campaign results and I can see why.

The one issue I've been running into is that they feel their long "hard sell" copy is the key to making this work. I, on the other hand, think it is the source of their failure.

So, I've presented to them my version and we are going to do a test campaign to see how it works. I basically took the meat out of the "hard sell" copy and condensed it into 1/6 of what they previously had.

For those of you working with these one page wonders, can you share some statistics as to why they do or do not work?

We have used both plain text and image emails. Seems that plain text have been more successful in returning clicks than images which are rarely opened.
