No matter which forum I participate in, everyone seems to praise CDG Commerce. This praise may be warranted, but are there any other Merchant Account providers that anyone would recommend?

Why not paypal? However You can check also with loudcommerce/authorize.net/2checkout especially better alternate option for US, and worldpay for UK and if you are located in European country ChronoPay is the best solution.

We also use LoudCommerce - we have been extremely happy with their services. Most ISOs do not see forums as a way of advertising - a few do though.
