Google, Yahoo, MSN and AOL Account for over 90 percent of shopping searches, according to statmarket.com. They periodically publish a "free" set of stats, and this week is search engine market share for shopping searches:

[statmarket.com...]

Interstingly, Google, Yahoo, and MSN each have about a quarter of the market, with AOL in fourth place with 15%. Nobody else is on the map - they say #5 is Netscape with 1.5% share.

This year is a big switch from last year, when Yahoo had 41% of the market. Google doesn't look all that dominant until you note that they are #1, but feed results to #2 and #4 as well.

Nice find, I find that many of the people who come to any of my ecommerce sites to buy are refered from AOL. Many of the people looking for information come from Google. With the amount of hits google brings in its about even with the traffic sales from AOL. Printed it out :)

I've been very shocked to see how little traffic AOL actually sends. It tends to be pretty qualified traffic - AOL users buy - but it's very little in comparison to Google and Yahoo.
