EBook Sales Tanked from Start of May

I sell an Ebook that should not be affected much by the seasons.

Ever since the start of May my sales have decreased 40%. I haven't changed anything at all, my google stats are virtually the same as prior to the drop, what is going on here?

Is this normal for a "summer slowdown"? My book has been running for almost one year. I know last month July and August were okay.

Any insight?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld tv33! Or at least congrats on reaching post #3! ;)

It's hard to say for sure. You're the best person to analyze the indicators and determine the why. The best we can do is to guess.

On that note, here are some thoughts. It could be related to the topic of your ebook. You say it isn't seasonal. Is it date sensitive or might the market sector be in upheaval at this moment? Could recent world events (or local events) be playing a role here? Could one of your competitor have released a competing book that is getting the your market sector's attention? Is it possible your ebook is available in hardcopy and perhaps selling better that way? Are there other sources of your ebook - if so, review them and see if they're outselling you.

For what it's worth, I've been hit by a similar slowdown. I have three produtcs, and all are suffering, despite traffic not moving much.

I agree with Loraxs' suggestions for things to investigate, but in my case, I've looked at all those things and still no obvious answer. It is frustrating!
